- Current Location: We collect your current location to provide location-based data and services. We do not save or store your current location after it is used to fulfill the requested service. The data is discarded immediately once the service is delivered.
- Speed Radar Reports (Optional): If you choose to report a speed radar, you will need to upload a video of the radar and provide the location where the video was recorded. We store the video and its associated location temporarily for verification purposes. Once the video is verified, it is permanently deleted, and only the location data is retained.
- Anonymized Storage: The verified speed-radar location is stored separately from any personally identifiable information and is not associated with your account or other personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Location (Current): Your current location is used temporarily to deliver location-specific features and content (e.g., traffic alerts, nearby speed radar locations). The location is not stored after it is used.
- Speed Radar Video & Location: The video and location you upload are used solely for verifying reported speed radar incidents. After verification, the video is deleted, and only the verified location is retained to improve map data and traffic alerts.
3. Data Retention
- Current Location: Your current location is not retained and is discarded immediately after being used to provide the requested service.
- Speed Radar Videos: Videos you upload are retained only for the purpose of verification and are deleted once the verification process is completed.
- Speed Radar Locations: The verified location (with no association to your identity) may be retained to help improve the community-based data and enhance service accuracy.
4. How We Protect Your Information
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures (e.g., encryption in transit and at rest, secure access controls) to protect your data. However, while we take steps to protect your information, no security system is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or lease your personal information. We may disclose your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, verification, and map service providers) who perform services on our behalf. These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Mapbox SDK: Our app uses the Mapbox Maps SDK. Mapbox may collect and use telemetry data as described in Section 6.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., court orders, subpoenas).
- Protection of Rights: We may share information to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of our users, employees, or the public.
6. Third-Party Map Services and Telemetry
To provide high-quality map functionality and navigation features, we use the Mapbox Maps SDK. By using Radarakk, you acknowledge the following regarding Mapbox's data practices:
- Data Collection: Mapbox may automatically collect system-level information, including IP addresses, device identifiers, operating system versions, and precise GPS location data to provide real-time traffic updates and improve their map services.
- Anonymization: Mapbox de-identifies this data to protect user privacy. For more information, please review the Mapbox Privacy Policy.
- User Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of Mapbox telemetry. You can do this by clicking the "i" (Information) icon or the Mapbox logo located on the map interface, or by revoking location permissions in your device's system settings.
7. Anonymity and Non-Association
The speed-radar locations we retain are stored without linking them to your account or any personally identifiable information. We take steps to anonymize location data, ensuring it cannot be reasonably associated with a specific user. This is done to maintain privacy and protect user anonymity.
8. Liability Exemption
By using Radarakk, you agree that the app and its owners, agents, officers, employees, affiliates, and contractors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the app, including the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any location-based information or speed-radar reports provided through the app.
We do not guarantee that reports or data are accurate, timely, complete, or fit for any specific purpose. You are solely responsible for how you use any information provided by the app. You should not rely solely on user-submitted reports for safety-critical decisions.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date. Please review this page periodically to stay informed about how we handle data. By continuing to use the app, you agree to the updated Privacy Policy.
